Typical examples of Residential installation include:

  • + High quality streamed Audio + Video Distribution

  • + Full Lighting Control for every room and outdoor area of the premises

  • + Simple Control that allows interaction with all aspects via one device or mobile app

  • + Robust WiFi + Networking, the backbone of the modern home

Some examples of previous work in this area are summarised below

One TV, Four Areas

The centre piece of this project is the hidden TV in the open-plan Living Area which not only raises when commanded, it also rotates so that it can be viewed in full clarity from the Sitting Room, Dining Room, Kitchen or Study.

A Control4 system was added to add simple controls to the TV lift mechanism and video source as well as the audio system which consists of Radio Tuner, CD and digital streaming functionality.  Presets were added onto the Control4 system so that access to radio stations and TV channels is just a button press away.

North London Spruce-Up

This small project had one simple brief;

Tidy the spider's web of cables, improve the sound of the TV and make it all easier to use.

As you can see from the Before + After photos, all equipment has been moved out of sight and into the beautifully crafted joinery. A Sonos Playbar was installed underneath the TV to improve the sound of a much-loved box-set and movies collection.

Upon inspection of the data cabling we found issues from the original installation as it was not completed correctly. This contributed to a lot of trouble the clients were having with the networking connectivity. We resolved the poor terminations and also improved the client's WiFi access throughout the home.

A Logitech Harmony remote was chosen to integrate all devices onto 1 handheld remote and mobile app.

Keep the view, hide the cinema

As well as multi-room audio and video throughout the entire 8th floor apartment the main Living Area TV needed to be hidden.  Many design ideas and options were discussed before settling on the final decision - a motorised TV mount and speakers which drop from the ceiling.

The stunning view from this East London home by the Thames was being spoilt by a TV in front of the floor to ceiling windows and needed to be hidden.  'We want to be able to see the view, whilst watching TV' - not an every day requirement, but in this apartment it made perfect sense.

The top of the range 55" TV hides flat to the ceiling when not in use as do the front 3 speakers of the Dolby Atmos surround sound system.  At the touch of a button, or simple voice command, the system is alive to watch the highest quality streamed entertainment.

Control4 was used to integrate all of the devices and multi-room audio system seamlessly.  Poor lighting was replaced for energy saving LED fittings around the home, all controlled by Control4 Keypads.  The Hallway column even has a party trick of being able to be any colour by the use of DMX controlled RGBW lighting. ' We want to paint the column but aren't sure which colour to go for' - 'Why not use light and have any colour you wish?'.

Retrofit projection solves large TV dilemma

This Project required plenty of planning to ensure optimum results.  The clients had always wanted a large screen to watch movies and TV series but the layout of the room did not lend itself to hiding a TV easily and a small TV which was connected when required was the old solution.

As well as a 65" projected image, this media room boasts a Sonos wireless surround sound system. A Sonos Playbar was hidden in a custom made housing, colour matched to the existing ventilation grill so that it would not be noticed.  2 Sonos speakers hang from the ceiling at the rear of the room, with the power being fed from a local power supply, the audio of course sent wirelessly.

The well thought out design of the apartment and previously installed infrastructure cabling meant cables for the new projection system could be hidden and no decorating work was required.

A Control4 system was installed to make the system simple to use and integrated Lutron lighting, Somfy blind control, AV control of each of the 9 zones, as well as allowing the Doorbell to trigger sound from the speakers and the system being muted when the house phone or door-entry system is called.
